The completely remodeled Gibson Park opened on August 7, 2012. The park’s centerpiece is a combination of Friday Night Lights and Field of Dreams. On this football/baseball field, the white yard-lines gleam against the green artificial turf, while the baseball diamond sports bright, orange dirt. The football stadium is named after an NFL player from Miami, Duane Starks. The park is named after the late Reverend Theodore Gibson, a Miami civil rights pioneer.
