The NW 79th Street Community Redevelopment Agency announced a new home rehabilitation grant program during a recent community town hall, offering up to $30,000 to eligible homeowners living within the agency’s boundaries.
Thirty homeowners will be selected to receive funding for improvements such as roof repairs or replacement, impact windows and doors, electrical and HVAC upgrades, painting, stucco work, ADA accessibility enhancements, pest control, decorative improvements, and other repairs aimed at improving home safety and livability.
Commissioner Marlene Bastien and Commissioner Keon Hardemon, who both represent portions of the area, encouraged residents to apply and emphasized the importance of helping longtime homeowners remain safe and comfortable in their neighborhoods.
To qualify for the program, applicants must:

- Own and occupy the home as their primary residence
- Have lived in the home for at least two years

- Maximum income limits range from $121,520 for a one-person household to $229,040 for a household of eight
- Be current on property taxes
