Is Overtown equipped to be a part of this 5-Year Strategic Plan on Industry Tourism?

Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau had an informational meeting on establishing a 5-Year Strategy for industry tourism on March 20th at the Overtown Performing Arts Center. Upon entering into the meeting they had a setup that included having boards up showcasing informational data and facts on transportation, communication and many others. The meeting was guided by a series of questions that was asked to the attendees.

The following questions were asked:

1. How can we and the tourism industry help create more awareness of this area among visitors?

2. What are the best experiences for visitors in the surrounding area today? What is missing or could be expanded?

3. How do we better balance the growth of tourism with quality of life of residents?

4 Are there any new initiatives or programs the GMCVB should pursue in the next five years?

The responses varied with each person as their relations to the neighborhood and personal experiences were different. Great things were said that made everyone think on a different level. As a result of this working informational meeting, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau were able to collect the opinions of the attendees to help them better understand what should be included into this 5-Year strategic plan. We would like to hear from you. How would you have responded to these questions? Leave a comment in the comment section.
